We promote excellence in teaching and enjoyment in learning. We aim to provide a rich, stimulating curriculum distinct to our school and building on our strengths. We established a secure foundation for all children within Literacy, Numeracy and Computer Education. We ensure enrichment and access to the arts through our emphasis on the teaching of music, dance and drama. We are creative and innovative in our use of whole school projects within sports, science and computer technology.
We ensure that we promote the spiritual moral, cultural, academic and physical development of children and prepare them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life.
Your child will soon be starting Nursery at the age of four In Motherland Academy. Teaching Learning is planned as part of our provision for the under fives - The Foundation Stage of Education. Children will follow a curriculum based on Early Goals for three, four and five year olds. This provides us with step - by – step guidance to develop children's skills and knowledge and prepare them for the more formal stages of Learning at Key stage One. We aim to provide a relevant curriculum and practitioners who understand and are able to implement the curriculum requirements and engage children in the learning process. We wish to be as effective as possible and therefore our curriculum is well planned, carefully structured and organized to give children rich and stimulating experiences.
We want children, parents and staff to work together in an atmosphere o mutual respect.
EXAMINATION:
The academic calendar is divided into three unit tests, three terminal examinations and one Final Examination so as to monitor the student's achievements during the academic year. Parents / guardians will be notified about each examination and asked to visit to obtain their children's report cards and to discuss occasionally about their children's progress with the teachers at any days of these examinations intervals. Also, class tests of the children will be taken frequently so as to regulate monitoring of the children. The pass marks of the students studying up to Standard V has been allotted 40 % whereas for the students studying in Standard VI onwards is allotted 50%.
BREAKFAST AND LUNCH:
Breakfast time is from 9:00 am to 9:30 am. Lunchtime is from 1:00 pm until 1:30 pm. It is supervised by staff who look after the children in the dining room and in the playground.
COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE:
There may be instances when you are unhappy or unsure about and aspect of the school. Please come to speak to us as early as possible. In most cases worries or complaints can be sorted out quickly and easily in discussion with the class teacher or head teacher. Following consultation and if you are still dissatisfied you may wish to make a formal complaint.
REPORTING TO THE TEACHERS:
We want to keep parents informed about how well their child is doing in school. We ask parents to fill out a consultation document before open evenings on which you can indicate to class teachers any particular area of your child's development you wish to discuss. On the result Day of each Terminal Examination, there are opportunities to talk individually to teachers about your child's progress. We organize individual parental consultations during such days.
You can also meet with staff after you receive your child's report. Moreover, parents / guardians are notified to look after the child's diary regularly.
